America marks 99 years of Tulsa racial violence

As protests erupt across the country regarding the death of George Floyd, the US is currently marking another anniversary of an event which is infamous for being an example of racial violence. 99 years ago, the Tulsa race massacre took place, and the incident saw a white mob descending on an affluent black community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Nearly 300 blacks were killed in the ensuing violence.
