Wall Street closes higher as recovery signs soothe protest, pandemic worries

US stocks posted gains on Monday as the potential for an economic rebound overshadowed strife in American cities amid an ongoing pandemic and rising US-China tensions. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 91.91 points, or 0.4%, to finish at 25,475.02. The S&P 500 rose 11.42 points, or 0.4%, to end at 3,055.73. The Nasdaq added 62.18 points, or 0.7%, to close at 9,552.05.
