Police are killing fewer people in big cities, but more in rural America

As per an analysis of data tracking police killings from various sources, police are killing people nationwide as often now as they were before 2014. However, the number of killing by police dropped 30% in 2019 than in 2013 in 30 largest US cities, likely due to reforms to use-of-force policies implemented in the wake of high-profile deaths, according to the Mapping Police Violence database.
