Louisville mayor fires city police chief

Greg Fischer, the mayor of Louisville announced on Monday that the city’s police chief had been fired from duty. The decision comes after it was reported that two officers who were involved in the fatal shooting of a black business owner had not switched on their body cameras. Both officers have consequently been put on administrative leave.

sounds like there were shots from both sides, and McAtee was a 3rd party who got caught in the crossfire. which means we have no idea if it was the cops or the rioters who actually shot him. I will definitely want to see what comes from the investigation.

Fog of war... so sad

How is it the police chief's fault if two of his officers did not follow protocol, by not turning on their cameras? Is there evidence he let such things slide in the past or something?

I'm confused, why was the police chief fired when it was the officers who have the ability to turn off their cameras?

In any of these circumstances, do we think people are spending time setting up cams in a riot? I'm interested in whether the cops being fired was based on fear of retaliation
