After riots, Birmingham Mayor declares state of emergency

Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin declared a state of emergency and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew for the city following protests against confederate statue turned riots. Woodfin vows to remove statue even though it may bring a civil suit against the city by Alabama attorney general. ’I am willing to accept that because that is a lower cost than civil unrest in our city.’ said the mayor.
