UK house prices decline at fastest pace in 11 years amid covid-19 pandemic

UK house prices declined at the sharpest monthly pace since Feb 2009, after £4,000 reduction in average cost of a home in May was witnessed as per the data from Nationwide. Transaction numbers fell 53% as the govt shut down much of the property market to help slow the spread of Covid-19. Annual price growth more than halved from 3.7% to 1.8%, taking the average cost of a home in UK to £218,902.
