Retired St. Louis police captain killed outside looted pawn shop

A retired St. Louis police captain was killed overnight Monday as he attempted to thwart looting at a pawnshop, local media reported. David Dorn, 77, was found dead of a gunshot wound outside the shop on Martin Luther King Dr. around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday. Dorn is survived by his wife Ann, who works for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department. Trump commemorated Dorn in a tweet late Tuesday.

I guess this blac.k life didn’t matter to these “peaceful protesters”. 😞

Rest in Peace sir. Served his community for so long he couldn't bear to watch it fall apart and still wanted to serve and protect. Killed by the very people he served. Tragic. We are sorry sir that we let you down, and let this happen, we must stomp out abuse of power by police where it exists and end this needless evil committed by rioters and looters. It's time for government to do it's job or step aside, or there will be alot more like this hero, and we will make sure to take some with us. Do something now Mayor's, Governers, and authorities. Before we do.

This is just sad. Its inexcusable what they are doing, not matter what faction they identify with. This needs to stop before more people needlessly lose their life.

I wish I could feel bad for this. but I am too numb from all the cops killing unarmed black people to have any room left for those who allowed it.

So sad. Stop the violence! Let your voice be heard peacefully. This helps nothing

This was not a action in direct response to the killing of George Floyd, this was just oportunistic pieces of garbage taking advantage of the unrest and causing the death of a business owner. Please don't use this as an excuse to paint all protesters with the same brush .
