Teresa Leger Fernandez beats Valerie Plame in New Mexico House Primary

Attorney Teresa Leger Fernandez defeated former CIA operative Valerie Plame in the Democratic primary for New Mexico’s 3rd District to replace Rep. Ben Ray Luján. Leger Fernandez, a Yale and Stanford Law graduate, was leading with 37% of the vote, with 38 percent of precincts reporting. Plame was running second with 23% of the vote in a primary that attracted six Democrats.
