Minneapolis school board unanimously votes to terminate city police contract

The Minneapolis school board has unanimously voted to end its contract with the Minneapolis Police Department, saying the actions of city police officers ’run directly counter to the values’ of the school district. The board has asked Superintendent Ed Graff to develop a new school safety plan by Aug. 18. Earlier, Univ of Minnesota had announced it would limit its ties with the city’s police force
