Without a free press you teeter ever closer toward the. Abyss of a dystopia regime... Like em or not they guardarnians at the gates of a free democratic republic...

A lot of these I’m pretty sure are targeting Fox News. They’re the ones that report negatively on Antifa, and these radicals starting the riots recognize that and are attempting to stop them from reporting (thus preventing contradictory evidence to the narratives they want to spin).

I hate some media outlets. That doesn't change that I have to treat them with respect as they're an important part of a functioning democracy. Some incidents may have been accidents but it's getting just to much to put them aside as "one-off" incidents. In many cases there are good videos showing completely non-violent journalists not resisting police while the police still seems to feel the need for violence. An additional reason why this is a problem is the image of the police. It is of utmost importance that the police is respected and viewed in a positive light by basically the whole population. When people distrust the police that can become a real problem and in many places that is a real problem already.

They are standing in a crowd of protesters that regularly turn violent. You are going to get caught up in it. The same thing would happen if you filmed any rioting action.

Dammb those cops for throwing bricks at reporters.

Well given Trump's anti media rhetoric this isn't new. Media had been under greater threat now than any time I can think of off the top of my head.

There are a number of examples where the press has been seemingly targeted by police and rioters to some extent, however most incidents are merely describing the press placing themselves between these two groups and then being shocked when they are caught in the crossfire. It seems even when they have a valid point, regarding the press being purposefully harmed, they cannot resist trying to twist the story into something of a more dishonest variety.

Trump hates free speech and the press. We already know this because he says it out loud. "Enemy of the people"
