Man who wrongly spent 23 years on death row is freed

A Pennsylvania man has been freed after spending more than 23 years on death row for a crime he did not commit. A judge overturned Walter Ogrod’s, conviction in the sexual assault and murder of four-year-old Barbara Jean Horn in 1988. The judge vacated Ogrod’s conviction based on prosecutorial misconduct and new evidence. ’Today the knee was partially lifted from my neck’, Ogrod said upon release.

That doesn't change my opinion on Death Sentence for murderers. Yes, but the evidence must be irrefutable too. A case like this cannot change a sentence for someone like a domestic terr0rist caught in an act of killing someone.

Another reason to abolish the death sentence. Government should not have power to kill it's own citizens.

Just FYI for everyone (since the story doesn't go in depth into what the new evidence was) they found male DNA that does not match Mr. Ogood and a review of his confession found it was made after 37 hours without sleep, without a lawyer and was recanted the next day after he got sleep.
