Surfer dies off the coast of Australia after 10 foot long shark attacks him

A 60 year old surfer was attacked and killed off the northern coast of New South Wales state in Australia on Sunday. After the initial attack, several surfers in the area fought off the 10ft (3m) shark and were able to bring the man, from Tugun, Queensland, to shore in an attempt to help him. Despite the rescuers efforts, the bite to the thigh proved fatal as the man died on the beach.
