BP will cut around 15% of its workforce in order to tackle Covid-19 crisis and as part of Chief Executive Bernard Looney’s strategy to shift the oil and gas major to renewable energy. Looney in a global concall told employees that company will cut 10,000 jobs by the year end from the present 70,100. However these will be mostly senior office-based positions and not front-line operational staff.
At least they are going to be cutting the fat up top.
