France says its police are now ’forbidden’ from using chokeholds

France’s Interior Minister Christophe Castaner announced Monday that the country’s police will abandon the chokehold method of arresting a suspect. ’It will no longer be taught in police and gendarmerie schools. It is a method that has its dangers,’ Castaner said. He added there would be ’zero tolerance’ for racism in law enforcement and officers strongly suspected of racism would be suspended.

I support choke holds. Kneeling on a handcuffed mans neck hell no, but choke holds are very effective and in trained hands can end physical conflict with no injury to either party.

Do you know it wouldn’t suprise me in the slightest if they just announced “Choke holds banned with exception of use on caucasians”.

I can really care less how they treat someone who is resisting arrest.
