National Guard begins to pull back after responding to George Floyd protests

The National Guard has decided to pull back its presence from various states across the country after its historic response to protests which broke out in the aftermath of the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis. A Pentagon official reported that as of Tuesday, there were 38,498 National Guard soldiers on the ground, which was a decline from 43,300 who were active on Saturday.
