Twitter testing feature prompting users to read articles before sharing

Twitter is testing a new feature that would ask users if they would like to read news articles prior to sharing them. At the moment, the feature is being trialled for US Android users exclusively. The move comes amid criticism of Twitter for not doing enough to combat misinformation. ’Sharing an article can spark conversation, so you may want to read it before you tweet it’, the company stated.

Honestly. Something I agree with them on. To many articles have click bait titles, and then when you read them it’s not what the title led you to believe. Some are connected to the story by the thinnest of threads if not just a blantant lie. Where based on the article itself, the title makes little to no sense.

Yep, reading a biased article before retweeting it to your echo chamber will make all the difference in the world.
