Multicultural products will no longer be locked in cases at Walmart

A long standing policy of Walmart under which a few of its stores kept personal care products designed for people of color in locked displays is being brought to an end. The practice has been criticized by shoppers for several years, and a black shopper in Colorado called the practice ’ridiculous’, this week.

They set their prices by how much they make per inch of shelf space per year. They also track theft (called shrinkage) on each product.. Therefore by not locking them up they will have to increase the price.
