Ohio lawmaker says he regrets asking racist question about coronavirus

Huffman, who is a doctor by profession, made his remarks on Tuesday during a hearing of the Senate Health Committee about whether to declare racism a public health crisis.

Asking if statistics are real isn't racist....

Yeah, that was an ignorant thing to say. It is not an issue with skin color but of class - poor ignorant people exist in all skin tones, and blacks are not comprised only of the poor.

I've been hearing left-wingers claim for months that covid-19 somehow disproportionately hurts non-white communities. This guy asks why they are making this assertion, and gets labeled racist for it. Seems like he just got baited

I'm also getting tired of people skewing the terms racism. This would be considered prejudice.

Racism is not a public health crisis. It's not racist to ask questions.
