New York’s governor, Andrew Cuomo claimed on Thursday and he stands against the call of taking down the statue of Christopher Columbus. Cuomo claimed that he didn’t agree with all of Columbus’s past actions but emphasized the importance of the statue to the Italian-Americans. ’The statue has come to represent and signify appreciation for the Italian-American contribution to New York,’ he added.
