Google to now ban target ads based on postal code, gender, etc

A year after the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) charged Facebook on the grounds of selling housing ads that were discriminatory by nature, Google announced on Thursday that it would Barr target ads based on ’gender, age, parental status, marital status or address.’ Google added that this will ensure that the companies do not discriminate against their potential customers.

I once had an ad for a rental home blocked from Craigslist for stating that the neighborhood was "family friendly". I posted it because there was a park nearby and lots of kids in the neighborhood. They claimed it was code for "no LGBTPQ", which never entered my mind.
