Peaceful protester carries man through angry crowd to safety

A BLM protester in London photographed carrying a white man to safety said he chose to step up, rather than let the man be pummeled by the crowd, ’to stop someone from being killed’. The picture, by Reuters photographer Dylan Martinez, has gone viral on social media. The savior, identified as Patrick Hutchinson, and four others rescued the man after an altercation broke out.

Thanks to those out there who are not perpetuating a race war and simply calling for equality. Human kindness is something being lost in these times

I hope the injured guy is doing OK. It would be nice to have a follow up story when he is well enough to thank Mr.Hutchinson.

People should not have to be protected against violence simply for being white in the first place. The people doing this are perpetuating racism not standing against it.

I commend that man for his heroic action. However, this would not have happened if the BLM thugs had been kept under control instead of being given free reign.

Finally a little humanity and decency in a sea of ugliness. Need more compassion like this.

His antifa and BLM mates attacked some random white guy they randomly accused of being a nazi, then he decided it was a bad idea and picked him up.

Why is this story being recycled everyday? I applaud the man for saving the guy who was injured but this smacks of trying to minimize the catastrophe that’s unfolding

That's great. Out of a crowd of hundreds, I'm glad to see a handful of decent BLM protestors. The rest are still garbage though, so fuck them.

At least this version of the story isn't "BLM protester saves Nazi from well deserved beating! Praise be to BLM!". It's a decent human being helping someone who was being attacked by thugs.

They understood. They knew that in order for people to hear their message that Black Lives Matter, they needed to show that they value life. No one believes someone who says they value life but immediately discards or abandons a life that isn't their favorite. By showing compassion for that man, who probably disagreed with them on some points, they show that they are about helping and protecting people, not merely putting some people over others. I hope we see more unity like this in the future, more people helping people. The world needs that right now.

Amongst the masses of heathens and warmongers, a hero acts in grace. His is a name to remember.

I am relieved that the comments are mostly supportive of the protesters. I've been seeing so much anger from everyone. All sides of the issue are over-the-top angry. I personally think it boils down to people who have it all (white privilege), not wanting "lesser beings" to have any of it. So, of course, each side is so livid they don't listen to anyone. In my opinion, the problem is mostly coming from the police. Starting during the Bush presidency, they were receiving war surplus. Then the police leaders started training new recruits how to escalate, and use all the fun tools they were given. And there are a lot of recruits who get into the force intending to crack skulls. "just get me at 'em!" And they never learn how to use reasoning skills. So now what do we have? A bunch of cops that were trained to escalate, who don't know how to stand down. Their behavior is actually proving the protesters points for them.

Tim: your heading and summary were much better in stating the facts (compared to Reuter’s and other media with the “far-right” label).... but it made me think when will we stop referencing black and white. If it was just “a man rescues beaten man out of crowd”?... would people read it?

Maybe he should have tried to stop the destruction and BML "Kristallnacht" violence instead of removing the carcasses afterwards. He is not a hero, a hero would not support violence. That's like being a NAZi brown shirt and helping carry away one injured Jew during Kristallnacht. https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/nazis-launch-kristallnacht German Nazis launch a campaign of terror against Jewish people and their homes and businesses in Germany and Austria. The violence, which continued through November 10 and was later dubbed “Kristallnacht,” or “Night of Broken Glass,” after the countless smashed windows of Jewish-owned establishments, left approximately 100 Jews dead, 7,500 Jewish businesses damaged and hundreds of synagogues, homes, schools and graveyards vandalized.

George Floyd was a long time cocaine and meth user with s bad heart. Likely it was just his heart. Also 5 time violent fellon. https://greatgameindia.com/george-floyd-criminal/ The report states the largest of the group, who the victim later identified as Floyd, ‘forced his way inside the residence, placed a pistol against the complainant’s abdomen, and forced her into the living room area of the residence. ‘This large suspect then proceeded to search the residence while another armed suspect guarded the complainant, who was struck in the head and sides by this second armed suspect with his pistol while she screamed for help.’

Okay first of all Reuters... the BNP are far right, EDL style groups aren't. CivNats aren't "far right." Secondly, I respect those gentlemen for having the humanity to see that ideologically possessed racism is still racism, and that murder is murder.

Good. Assaulting people will only lead to more violence and hatred. When at least around half of the long dead ancestors of the current Caucasian (white) generation cracked thier whips and beat many of the long dead ancestors of the current African and African-American (black) generation that my have made the poor souls more obedient but did something way more. It created and/or intensified the hatred the slaves felt toward their masters. You be be asking why? This connotation? Well in this situation is that when black people beat, kill, etc white people, destroy mounuments (sorry if I got spelling wrong) , etc it will just intensify the hatred that actual racists have for black people even if they are only assaulted by white people, etc but not black people they will know that it’s black people who are behind it and as such their hate will intensify and intensify until a breaking point and this hatred will even CREATE hatred and racism of black people by white people who weren’t even hateful or racist towards black people in the first place. Cop hating will have the same effect. All police officers being hated for the actions of a small minority will create hatred of that small minority but will be superseded by hatred and fear of the people they serve and protect because they worry and fear that they will be assaulted and/or murdered just for the act of wearing the uniform and being a police officer. That fear will lead to hatred and possibly racism (note POSSIBLY) against the race that targets them the most.
