Mexico begins reopening even as cases, deaths remain high

Mexico has started re-openings of businesses shut down due to the pandemic, though deaths and new cases continue to rise in one of Latin America’s worst-hit countries. Mexico’s total confirmed Covid-19 cases rose to 154,863 and 18,310 total deaths. Mexico City’s authorities has announced that factory workers can return to their jobs on Tuesday while shops will be able to reopen on Thursday.
