McConnell pushes GOP Senate police reform bill, says House bill ’going nowhere’

Sen. Tim Scott (R-FL) and majority leader Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) held a press conference on Tuesday to unveil a police reform bill that focuses on reporting and training. McConnell said that he would look to bring the bill to the Senate floor quickly. He also said the House police reform bill is ’going nowhere’ in the Senate.

I am fairly positive neither party has a clue as to what needs to be fone to improve things. Both are grandstanding and offering up largely empty gestures. I would like to see a serious restriction if when force can be used, a clear declaration of what consequences will befall officers who kill innocent people.

Ok and McConnells bill is going nowhere in the House. 🤷‍♂️

If McConnell genuinely wanted reform, you might think he would allow both bills to be debated and maybe compromise legislation would result. That is not how the "world's greatest deliberative body" works these days.
