Supreme Court stays Texas execution scheduled for Tuesday
The US Supreme Court on Tuesday stayed the execution in Texas of a convicted killer scheduled to die later in the evening. The court ruled that a lower court judge should consider Ruben Gutierrez’ request to have a spiritual adviser present. Gutierrez, 43, has been sentenced to death for the 1998 murder of an elderly mobile-home park owner during a robbery.

This is dumb. Why wouldn't they just have a chaplain there. They are trained for this scenario and can handle most if not religious requests.
