It doesn’t look like the protests are causing a Covid-19 spike

As per a Slate article, large demonstrations across the US earlier this month haven’t resulted in a surge in Covid-19 cases, as feared by many. The article, citing health analysts, says that most of the demonstrators were seen wearing masks, which presumably shielded them from the virus. NYC, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, where the most of the protests took place have not yet seen a surge in cases.

I have a hard time believing this. If this is the case, why can't we lift the lockdown and reopen. If it's safe to gather in such large numbers, shoulder to shoulder , then we should be able to reopen.

All of their claims that we were opening up too quickly and that the anti lockdown protestors were gonna kill grandma were all just a power play. They didnt actually care about deaths. Its time to rub that in their faces endlessly.

I love how they say, "They were wearing masks which likely shielded them" when we know that is not possible. Masks cannot prevent the spread of covid 19. They just can't come out and say it isn't anywhere near as infectious as we thought. The truth would infuriate the 40 million people who were forced to lose their livelihood over this unbelievably weak "pandemic".

Yet they are telling us any Trump Rally will cause a tremendous spike in Covid-19 cases?
