Eight minority corrections officers barred from guarding Derek Chauvin

Eight minority corrections officers in Minnesota claimed they were sent to a different floor of a county jail and were blocked from guarding Derek Chauvin, a fired Minneapolis police offer, after his arrest in George Floyd’s death. The eight officers also claimed a supervisor informed them that they were seen as a potential ’liability’ concerning Chauvin’s stay in the jail due to their race.
