Police officer in New York suspended after ’apparent chokehold’

A police officer from the New York Police Department was suspended without pay on Sunday, after he was recorded putting his arm around a man’s neck, in an ’apparent chokehold’, as described by the police commissioner. There have been calls to ban chokeholds across the country following the death of George Floyd.
