Google employees demand the company end police contracts

Google employees demand the company end police contracts

Google employees have sent a letter to CEO Sundar Pichai demanding an end be put to sale of technology to police forces. More than 1,600 workers had signed the letter. The letter calls out Google’s work with police and military through Gradient Ventures. The employees also criticize Google’s cloud division for touting its relationship with the Clarkstown PD in New York.

Google's relationship with law enforcement is neither here nor there with regards to police brutality. Collecting and processing evidence has little to do with police physically interacting with people.
