Microsoft adds to diversity investment, aims to expand number of Black employees

Microsoft on Tuesday set a 5-year diversity goal to address racial inequality at its offices, and said it will add another $150M in diversity and inclusion investment to double the number of Black and African-American people managers, senior individual contributors, and senior leaders in the US by 2025. The company in November said 2.7% of its executives and 4.5% of its employees are Black.

Bloody Hell! How the hell is hiring based on someone's skin colour not racist? Google has done this before and it has killed development. Because they feel that they need to promote based on diversity rather than meritocracy and competency.

In the tech sector finding qualified employees of any skin color is difficult enough that typically H1B people are brought in -- so India and China end up being heavily represented.

The question those employees unfortunately need to ask is did they get there on merit or quota. I do not wish for a society where black people end up starting to question whether their achievements are their own. But alas virtue signalling companies with affirmative action do not think black people can achieve meritocritously.

Their Windows was already aweful. Imagine how quick they will turn everything that's left of their products upside down with the dilution of their skilled and qualified employees. I'm willing to bet their hires are all in the HR and marketing specialist though. You can't really bring unqualified people to programming and infrastructure. Quota hires usually turn out to be Karens who bring their workplace culture down.
