Google to start paying some news publishers for content

Google to start paying some publishers for their news content, in a move that could pave the way for reducing tensions between Google and the beleaguered news industry. The company said it plans to launch a licensing program in 2020 to pay publishers for high-quality content. The program will start with local and national publications in Germany, Australia and Brazil, and more would be added soon.
