COVID-19 cases skyrocket in San Quentin, Corcoran prisons

According to the California Dept. of Corrections & Rehabilitation, there are now more than 300 active cases in San Quentin. This is a 6-fold jump from 8 days ago, when there were 48 reported cases. All of the reported cases came after CDCR transferred nearly 200 inmates from the California Institution for Men, a prison in Chino with 850 active coronavirus cases to San Quentin and Corcoran prisons.
