Prosecutor launches investigation into couple brandishing guns at protesters

An investigation has been launched into the St. Louis couple caught on video brandishing guns in the front yard of their home while protesters passed through their neighborhood. Mark McCloskey, the 63-year-old homeowner, claims he, his wife and their home were threatened by protesters, that had opened the gate to their private residence. The Circuit Attorney said her office was working with police

Investigate away, but being threatened with violence is one of the reasons that you get to wield guns lawfully.

I originally wrote a comment on this criticizing the couple, but before I saw the full video. The protesters opened the private gate to the couples yard, entered, and would not leave. That is breaking and entering. On the other hand, guns didn’t need to be brandished, police should have been called to remove the protesters. On the other-other hand, the way the police are breaking skulls, it could have been turned into a massacre, instead of a viral video. It doesn’t look like there would have been any “best case scenario,” no matter what they did.
