Airbus to cut 15,000 jobs as no recovery expected until 2023

Airbus announced Tuesday that it will cut 15,000 jobs, 10% of its total employees, over the next year, due to unprecedented losses because of the pandemic. Citing a 40% slump in commercial aircraft business activity, Airbus said it didn’t expect air travel to return to pre-virus levels before 2023 and potentially not until 2025. The layoffs will hit operations in France, Germany, Spain and UK.
