Boston to remove statue depicting Lincoln with freed black man at his feet

The Boston Art Commission voted unanimously Tuesday to remove the Emancipation Memorial, a replica of the monument in Washington, D.C., that depicts Lincoln standing with a freed slave in the process of standing up as shackles fall from his arms. It was erected in 1879. ’...Many also feel it implies that one person ended slavery and misrepresents the complexity of US history,’ a statement read.

Yeah that statue is a bit creepy. I would VOTE to remove it and commission a Lincoln statue that didnt have a black man on his knees. I see what the artist was trying to do there, but it didnt age well.
