Trump insulted UK’s May, called Germany’s Merkel ’stupid’, claims report

Carl Bernstein, one of two former WaPo reporters who broke the Watergate Scandal, has published details of a phone call between President Trump and Theresa May when she was the prime minister. Trump is alleged to have told May she was ’weak’ and ’lacked courage’, besides telling German Chancellor Merkel she was ’stupid’. A source who was part of May’s calls said the claims were ’untrue’.

He might sound crass but he does have a point given May's handling of Brexit. However, these comments don't help the public image of the US.

May was an absolutely dispicable PM. To be in favour of Remain, force herself into the leadership role despite being at odds with the majority of the U.K. electorate and then nominate a cabinet loaded with other Remainers - Weak Weak Weak!!!!!

I recently saw an interview of Doctor John Campbell, (a renown infectious disease expert from the UK for over 30 years). During the discussion about Covid-19, Dr John mentioned in passing that he has gotten so many non-medical and non-scientific people arguing with him about the virus, and calling him fake. All from the USA. I have also had people argue with me on the best treatment for my kidney cancer and kidney failure... and none of them were doctors or scientists. Some went so far as to say I should go on a fasting diet. (that would kill me) There is a good percentage of our population that are suffering from the Dunning-Kruger effect, who have limited knowledge, but think they are experts. This is Donald Trump. People like him will argue passionately about something they have limited knowledge of. Apparently, the WH wants to hire those people ... "experience over education," they'd fit right in. Donald doesn't like anyone smarter than him.
