Seattle Police release video of wild brawls, gunfire at ’CHOP’ autonomous zone

Seattle police have released videos of the CHOP autonomous zone where violent confrontations took place over the course of a three-week occupation. The videos show mass brawls, audio of gunshots, people scrambling for cover, and a man carrying probably an AK-47. These scenes took place inside Seattle where activists put up barriers to keep out police and avoid any formal internal governance.

They could've done this so, so differently, in order to make their point. In India, for instance, there was a women led sit in protest in Delhi involving a thousand people. On some days, more than 100,000 people would gather at the site. The protest, which was non-violent, went on for nearly 100 days and brought attention to the government's alleged oppression of its Muslim minorities. Maybe its time for us to sit back and borrow a leaf outta Gandhi's book?
