As per a latest poll by Axios-Ipsos, 88 percent of Americans who were polled are of the view that protests are risky for the spread of the novel coronavirus. 78 percent of the respondents were also worried about the risk that July 4th celebrations posed to the spread of the virus, and a further 83 percent were of the view that indoor weddings also carry a large or moderate amount of risk.

I love how every foreign commentor on this topic on Newsvoice has consistently been very critical of American's response to COVID-19, but fail to understand how things work here compared to anywhere else. In America, Authority of the Government ultimately comes from the People, and that authority only extends as far as the People consent to being governed. This means that the US relies on the People being educated enough to take care of the things Government doesn't have authority to handle. That's why you hear so much about our leaders URGING citizens to social distance, because they don't have the authority to make it a decree. The fact that the grand majority of Americans see these protests as hazardous in this way should speak both to how most Americans have their heads on their shoulders, as well as how passionately these protesting Americans feel about these topics. Fair and responsible police action is fairly important to us, as you can see from both sides of the isle suggesting some kind of reform. This is a time where I am so very proud of my country, proud to call myself American, and proud of how it's handling this incredibly difficult time. It's not perfect, far from it, but it's not so terrible either. It's a work in progress, but it continues to shine with promise and potential. I only hope that all this potential and promise can be fully realized one day.

Yes the protests spread it and the big gathering planned in Washington ( masks optional) will be spreading it too.
