Bill to sanction Chinese banks over Hong Kong security law passed by House

The House of Representatives passed a bill by unanimous consent on Wednesday which seeks to impose sanctions on banks which indulge in business with those Chinese officials who are responsible for implementing a national security law aimed to crack down on protesters in Hong Kong. Experts have said that the Chinese law severely hampers Hong Kong’s autonomy.
