Google’s Fitbit takeover questioned by EU regulators

The EU is looking into whether Google’s proposed takeover of Fitbit for $2.1bn will harm competition, or give it access to too much personal data. Fitbit makes fitness-tracking watches that monitor the users heart rate & activity levels. A group of consumer groups and privacy advocates have called for Google’s takeover to be blocked. EU is to decide by 20 July whether to allow or probe the deal.
