Tesla Q2 sales surge over Q1 despite factory shutdown

Tesla said that it delivered more EV globally in Q2 than it did in Q1. This was mainly because the Covid-19 restrictions forced it to shut down its only US factory for most of the period during Q1. The company delivered 90,650 vehicles from April through June as it rolled out the new Model Y SUV in the US & China which is a 2.5% increase over Q1’s 88,400 vehicles sold.
