Gap in unemployment rates for black, white Americans hits 5-year high

The US has seen the widest gap in unemployment rates for African Americans and whites in five years in June. As per data from the Labor Dept, white unemployment rate fell 2.3 percentage points to 10.1% from 12.4%, while the rate for blacks dropped 1.4 points to 15.4% from 16.8%. At 5.3 percentage points, the gap is now the widest since May 2015.
