Louvre museum reopens after 16-week coronavirus shutdown

The Louvre, the world’s most visited museum, reopened on Monday after its Covid-19 closure, but with nearly a third of its galleries still shut. The museum has lost more than US$45mn in sales during the lockdown. Director Martinez said, although most of the museum’s most popular section, like the ’Mona Lisa’ and its antiquities collection will be accessible, other galleries will remain closed.
