Maxwell set for first hearing in Epstein sex abuse case

Ghislaine Maxwell is set to make her first appearance in a New York court on sex trafficking charges this week. Maxwell is due to be arraigned in a Manhattan federal court on Friday. She faces six counts including perjury and conspiracy to entice minors as young as 14 years old to travel in order to engage in illegal sex acts. She is also accused of taking part in some of the sexual abuse.

"Conchita Sarnoff told BBC Newsnight's Emily Maitlis that Ghislaine Maxwell is covered under the immunity clause within the non-prosecution agreement given to Jeffrey Epstein in 2008. Ms Sarnoff added that the deal was a federal agreement, not a state agreement. " I wonder what kind of an effect will this have on the prosecution.
