House Democrats push bills to remove Confederate statues from Capitol

House Dems have unveiled a new spending bill to remove Confederate statues from Capitol. The House Appropriations Committee is expected to advance the bill Friday for a floor vote likely later this month. The bill directs the architect of the Capitol to remove all statues of people who served in the Confederate states’ government or in its forces during the Civil War and place them into storage.

I've seen those statues in that hall. The history is interesting. I did think it odd to have them in the Capitol building. I'd be okay with them being moved and displayed elsewhere. Interesting fact, in that room there is a spot marked on the floor where John Quincy Adams requested his desk be placed. At that exact spot the sound reverberates back to a focal point there. So you can here what anyone is saying in the room, even a whisper. It's quite amazing how the acoustics work.
