Ilhan Omar calls for sweeping changes to the US ’economy and political systems’

Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-MN, in a recent comment declared that the US needs to go beyond dismantling the police system and other ’systems of oppression’ in the pursuit of racial justice. In response, Sen. Marsha Blackburn, R-TN, called on Omar to resign: ’Ilhan Omar took an oath to defend and protect the Constitution, not shred it. Omar and her Marxist comrades are a threat to our Democracy.’

So pretty much NOT this: “I, Ilhan Omar, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.”

What Ilhan Omar said: Dismantle economic and political systems that serve as system of oppression. Tear down systems of oppression in housing, healthcare, education, employment, bring down inequality. What people (including the President's son) heard: Dismantle the economy, shred the constitution.
