Vandals tear down 9/11 memorial flagpole in New York
Police have launched a probe after a flagpole at a memorial honoring five firefighters who died in the Sept. 11 attacks was cut down by vandals in Washingtonville, and a message, which authorities would not disclose, was graffitied on the part of the pole left standing. Police believe the same culprits are behind another spate of vandalism which also happened about half a mile away Tuesday night.
