Dutch to sue Russia in human rights court over Malaysian Airlines flight downing

The Netherlands are planning to file suit against Russia in the European Court of Human Rights for their involvement in the downing of flight MH17 of Malaysia Airlines in 2014. Justice for the 298 victims who were on board the plane which was shot down over eastern Ukraine will be given the highest priority, according to Stef Blok, the Dutch foreign minister.

"Late last year, Russia was asked by Dutch prosecutors to arrest a Ukrainian suspect alleged to have run rebel air defences close to the missile firing site. Instead, according to prosecutors, Russia deliberately allowed him to travel to eastern Ukraine." This should tell us everything about how necessary it is to take the Russian government to court.
