UK police apologize for telling woman her anti-Boris T-shirt was illegal

British police have apologized to a woman after she was told by officers at a BLM demonstration that her wearing an anti-Boris Johnson T-shirt was unlawful. Jessie-Lu Flynn was wearing a T-shirt bearing the slogan ’F@k Boris’ at a BLM rally in central London on 3 June. She was challenged by two cops, who asked her to zip up her jacket, as she was in breach of part of the Public Order Act.

Well if you can't have an F Muslims/blacks/jews/gays shirt because it could "cause gross offence" then you can't have one saying F Boris either.

They're (the neo fascists) are trying to accomplish this here in America.. key word being "TRYING."

Was this the posh girl who wants to be a doctor yet wishes an awful death on Boris? I didn't agree with her t shirt but the police need to get a grip. It's like they're scared to punish the real crimes so go after the petty infractions.

At least British cops apologize to citizens, not like the KOPS we have here!

UK's public order act is so vague, so technically you could say this does violate it. Has anyone here read the public order act? Pretty much anything could violate it.

This reminds me of a Supreme Court case in US. It was over a shirt that said “F&ck the Draft”. The ruling was that it was free speech. I think the same applies here. The important part is what would happen if someone was wearing a shirt that says “F&ck Labor” or something similar.

Seams that "Hate", "Rasism" and "Sexism" have become directional words. As in they only apply In one direction, toward the left, toward people of color and toward non-male. Here the cops had to apologize for enforcing the law as written and currently being held up in court.
