Misaligned missile to blame for jet shootdown, says Iran

Iran has blamed the misalignment of an air defense unit’s radar system for the accidental downing of a Ukrainian passenger plane earlier this year. ’A failure occurred due to a human error in following the procedure’ for aligning the radar, causing a ’107-degree error’ in the system, a report said. Flight 752 was struck by two missiles and crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran’s airport.

Not sure how a misaligned radar makes you shoot down a passenger jet. Gotta make some excuse though right? Can't have it looking like you murdered a hundred plus people on purpose. My bad it was supposedly a misaligned missile which sounds even more unbelievable to me. Okay so the missile was misaligned that doesn't explain why they fired in the first place.
