Call for investigations into accusations of sexual harassment on Seoul’s Mayor

The secretary for Seoul Mayor Park won-Soon has called for a world where ’women can be treated like humans’ in her first public statement since the death of one of the most powerful political figures in South Korea. In her statement, the secretary described incidences of sexual harassment she suffered at the hands of the mayor and also the years of abuse she had faced.

Is it okay to bring forth claims of harassment by a person, after they're dead? Would it not be better to do so when they're alive, instead, since then the person would have the opportunity to defend themselves. Of course, when a person is alive, they could use their power to silence people. Quite the conundrum!
